This is a commonly reported problem. Honda had (in the States at least) a TSB for this. They would put on an "extension" to those rear tabs.
Most people simply don't use the cover.

I used mine once, and then stashed it in the basement.

Hmm...does anyone know if Honda Canada went with the TSB as well? That boot cover has to be the most useless piece of trim on the S2000. I still use mine despite the popping up problem, but only to keep dust from accumulating in the roof rails and mechanism.

I used mine once, it popped up at speeds greater than 90kms/h. After that, it has sat in the basement ever since. The funny thing is that piece of crap cost near $800 Cdn.

I've used mine a few times and it's been fine at speeds up to 130 km/h, after that? Honda did do a warranty recall on it and mine was replaced last November (before I bought the car but I saw the note on the service invoice). Perhaps ask the service department next time you're there.

There was a recall because it interfered with seatbelt use but that's all HCI has given us.

I've used it twice. First time was the day I got it, so I could take some pictures, second time was while it was installed on my trip to Red Deer to leave it in my Dads basement.

Its useless.
