Seriously, I have already pieced together my alarm system that will go in along with the new seats:
1. Alarm with dual-stage shock sensor ("peep-peep" for a small hit, "screaming" for a heavy hit); glass break sensors; motion sensors; tilt sensor.
2. A severely loud and obnoxious 118db electric horn that ensures that it is impossible to get anything out of my car without having your hearing permenantly damaged.
3. Kodokan's seat locks. They prevented someone on here's seats from getting jacked = proven enough for me!
4. Interior and extrior mounted strobe lights. Inside I'll probably use red and blue or some other severely clashing color combo so that even if they can stand the alarm, they'll have a really tough time seeing what they're trying to do. Outside, they'll be police-style turn signal flashers so it'll be as obnoxious as anything.
5. A car cover
6. Laminated sheets of paper I'll tape in the window every night warning any potential thieves of the sort of misery they are about to bring on themselves by messing with my car.
More exotic ideas had included:
- a pet pit viper that I'd just leave in the car at night
- an intricate monofilament wire lattice I'd fasten to the door frames on either side when I left at night
- laser tripwires connected to circular saw blades that would swing out from the underside of the car
- spring loaded ball-peen hammer that swings out from the top frame
But since those could potentially hurt myself, someone working on the car, or just plain get me sent ot jail for sadism, I figured a really overdone alarm was probably the best bet.

just curious, isn't shutting off an alarm takes less than 10sec? pop the hood -> disconnect the battery. i know that you didn't have an insurance when your car was broken into but after what happened, i would rather pay half of that money into reliable insurance company with decent coverage, and hope they don't f%^$$k us over.
