Just bad luck I guess.

On last go around a rock from a rig found my shield and took out the whole pane. I had the guy out to replace it that week. Then next morning... got pegged out of freakin' no where in the #3 lane with a marble sized rock that had gotten kicked up by a lifted pickup in the #1.

Being low coupled with the higher angle of the 2K windshield just doesn't help.

The trick is that your insurance company would rather pay them $60 than replace the whole windshield @$300. Done it about 6 times. 15 minutes on the phone with the insurance co. while the dude does the magic goop/UV cure.
I've done it a couple times before too. But some insurance companies have changed their standard policy. State Farm no longer covers repairs... only replacements.

My understanding from the local Novus shop is there has been too much fraud from the fly by night guys who set up tents in parking lots... so insurance companies have been changing their policy.

I just talked to my State Farm agent and she informed me the same thing. I'll Novus and let you know how the result go.
