Why did my rear brake pads wear out faster?

.... thermal energy gets mitigated

Is that like you mitigating the contents of that 5th?

Its easy to boil even SuperBlue (415f limit) if you don't take full advantage of a cool down lap.
But this is something that developed on-track. Doesn't sound like soakback to me.

I think he just overcooked his pads, and the rear pads were more fragile. Probably because they are much smaller to start with.

hey ananda...

pads are your answer (the type that clamps your rotors). i was at the same event and i was fine with the Cobolt GT-S. The end of the straight is very very hard on your brakes, but I was able to repeat the braking point every single lap and slow down enough to not run off the track.

Yep, Bremerton.

I am looking forward to trying some other tracks, though. And I may have an opportunity for me to drive Spokane in the next few months. Someone I know may rent the track for their own personal use.

(I don't know if this is true or not, but he said he was extending his invitation to a few local Le Mans and Champ car drivers. Sound like this could be a cool track event!)

HI Chikai,

I remember you from the PDE day... I may jump on some EBC Green Stuff or the Cobalt brake pads in the near future. But, I really don't know if I am going to hang on to the car past this summer.

Dude, Ananda... EBC Green's would be more appropriate for Lake Street than Spokane Raceway. I think Ray is trying to tell you that you are looking at the wrong brake pads. If not, then I am.

These are what you should be looking at for track use:

So far I've been happy with my Panther+. Slightly less expensive, too.

I should buy some temp paint and see what my rotors are really getting up to. That would be interesting.

Just buy some of the red JDM-style brush on caliper paint. It turns black right about 400F.
