Where to buy Syncromesh Friction Modified Locally?
My friend wants to change his tranny fluid this Saturday and wants to use Syncromesh Friction Modified (AC Delco, GM, Pennzoil). Anyone know of a local place to get it?

I bought some at Jet Chevrolet, in Federal Way. They were surprised to find it on their shelves, though. When I talked to the parts guy on the phone he was saying, "Well what do you know? I don't think I've ever seen this stuff before...."

I had my cousin trying to buy that at Good Chevrolet at Renton and not only the parts guys refuse to look up computer for him. He also laughing at him and told him that he went to wrong dealership. They got no shit for Honda. Go AWAY>...... I had him gone there because my co-worker's dad used to work there
Then I went to the Chevy dealership up on Aurora Ave. and sure enough the parts guy never seen that either, and he said they used to put that on their trucks, but not on cars... Anyway, I was there in early morning and they have to special order the friction modifier. They were ready for pick up by noon... How efficient.
I don't know what exactly the problem you guys encounter on the S2000, but I had the 2-3, 4-5 shift grinding on my nsx if i shift quick, and all the expert excused it as my worn gear selector. (not syncro) Some swore by the result of this GM Snake oil.
I did notice the shifter is a little smoother after changing the fluid. (I messed up and only had 1 friction modifier in with 2 regular syncromesh). The grinding still there for the next few hundred miles. Then when I took my car to track, I noticed my gear change is getting faster and faster. By the middle of second session, I'm shifting normal (not drag racer fast though), and the grinding is gone since then.
I put the oil in in March. Numerous track day and more than 10000 miles, they still seems fine. With the cool temperature, it felt a little stiffer, but I can still getting into first and reverse easily. Something I wouldn't be able to do before I change the fluid.
So... here's my first person testimony.
