Where to buy a motorcycle?
I am going to admit, I don't know motorcycles. I consider myself a gearhead but I don't know jack when it comes to this subject!
My Uncle gave me a call from Canada and wants me to look into a Suzuki GSX R-1000. Does anyone know a good place to call and talk to someone? To get good prices? Or would be knowledgable on shipping it to Canada?
Thanks!

barry @ i-90 motorsports was cool to deal with. my friends bought 2 bikes from him during the same weekend. the shop is over in issaquah. he actively races yamaha bikes, and has won a few races. he's very helpful and don't make you feel dumb when you ask "stupid" questions about biking or bikes in general. he likes to educate.
i hear eastside is pricey, and i know that lynnwood motoplex is pricey as well.
personally, i don't like GSX-R's.

Go to http://www.hondaeasttoledo.com and request a quote OTD, including the shipping of the bike to the Seattle area. Shipping is about $400.
If Smokey Point Cycle Barn up in Arlington carries that bike (http://www.cyclebarn.com), go see Mark Parker and they WILL match Honda East pricing, which is CRAZY for a local dealer. Tell him that Johnny Le sent you.
I bought my '04 600RR last August from HET and after having the bike shipped here and then registering it and paying TTL, I saved at least $1200+.
I just added an '05 600RR last weekend and was going to buy from HET again. However, I learned that Mark Parker and Smokey Pt. Cycle Barn could do something for me and they matched HET pricing! No shipping to worry about, let alone 3-4 day waiting period. Again, for a local dealer to match HET pricing is crazy!
The '05 600RR MSRPs for $8,999. Get this, I paid $9,140 OTD -- as in TTL and all. Their normal going rate or the common rate locally is MSRP + TTL + a variable bull$h!t freight and setup fee that varies from $400-$700.
Their normal price was $10.7k. I saved $1,600 and got the bike right away.
On snap, I just realized that your uncle is in Canada. Perhaps he should try and buy from Smokey Point Cycle Barn (NOT Lynnwood) and then "import" it into Canada?
Good luck!

The Eastside Motorsports phone numbers don't work... But I can stop by their showroom.
It sounds like these cycles are in limited supply. Some places are already sold out of the R1000s, and a lot of places seem unwilling to deal until the 2006 models come out. Even then, the 2005 models will be slim picking.

Have you tried contacting Honda East Toledo?
I'm telling you, their prices, even with shipping and then TTL after registering in WA are extremely difficult for local dealers to match, let alone beat.
Again, I saved $1600 when I bought my '05 600RR last weekend after a local dealer price matched HET. $1600 savings is signficant to me, espeically on a bike that originally MSRPs for $8,999.
