I changed out the engine oil and it only filled half of the six quart pan, and very little ended up going on the ground. I was pretty certain the car was level (had it on four jack stands on a pretty level driveway), and I gave it plenty of time to drip before changing out the filter.
Afterwards, I had second thoughts about whether all the oil had drained, especially after I was only able to put almost exactly one quart in three different bottles (third bottle was about 3/4 full). I ended up removing the oil bolt a second time, jacking the car up and down from the rear to make sure all the oil had drained, and still barely anything came out.
Anyway, needless to say, I will be checking my oil level more frequently in the future. I was hoping to see over four quarts come out, preferably five.
P.S. It has been since August since I have changed my oil, so it was long overdue (though I put on less than 5,000 miles in that period).
