No one has driven my car on this course (some of you guys are definitely welcome to), but I have had nationals-winning Auto-X'ers drive the '04 AP2 with me in the passenger seat during an Evo Performance Driving School. It was VERY enlightening. ...I think I need to get back to one of those, the things they teach would be helpful on this course.

You can also go out in the rental karts. The track's dynamics are quite obvious when you are sitting 3/4 of an inch off the ground. The line is the line. It doesn't change when you switch vehicles. If you are participating in one of the kart races you'll immediately see if you are using a slower line.

Well if the quick line is the same in a kart or a car, then I definitely have improving to do.

And its funny that you mentioned those corners Jared, cause watching the videos, I said the same exact thing to myself. I just need to get some new tires and try to make myself drive properly. I seem to be able to see the line better when I am watching than driving.

As for tires I am trying to catch a new set when they hit craigslist. I missed a set of new 225/45r15 RA1's for $400 by less than an hour... As for my tires, they are the first set of chorded R888s that I have seen. Most people tend to cycle them out before finding metal. Atleast they wore evenly, That must say something about my alignment. All that I did was flip them half way through.

This is usually symptomatic of looking at the track in front of the car instead of looking at where you want to go. The car has a magic way of following the path defined by your eyes.

^^ Looking sufficiently far ahead has got to be one of the most valuable tactics out there. Also the easiest to forget!! I have to deliberately tell myself to do it or I won't

And the faster you go the further ahead you need to look.

On a side note, I have determinded from watchiung my videos and Jared's videos that having power is a bit more of an advantage than people seem to be giving it credit for.

With Ray in the passenger seat and entering the front straight sideways, he still gets from one side to the other 2 seconds faster than me. The rear straight is slightly less, but still nearly 2 seconds. I know that I could make up time on the straight by entering with better speed, but even if it's just a 3 secong total between the front an back straight, that's a bit of a difference.

Turbo kits are starting to look better and better. Too bad I'm too nervous about breaking someting... That and I have no money

^ oh I know that the engine would be more than fine running 5-7lbs of boost, but Its easier to be affraid than to admit that I have no money
