If you can't beat 1:16 in your s2k it should be taken away from you. EVEN ALFY can do that in his stock s2k... Sorry alfy...
Before I make a comment, was this also directed towards me?

I mean a 360hp s2k on 295 wide tires is going to be way too fast compared to the other cars that would be running in a street tire only class.
That would be great, I'm interested to find out. Unfortunately my 225 fronts are going to do some of my pace setting for me. The set up isn't perfected yet. if i ran some R comps up front that would balance things out nicely, what class would you put me in then?

The small light cars do well, no doubt, but half of the point of this circle jerk was to find a way to split cars that had more equitable categories. Seems odd to revert to a different way of splitting up cars that leaves most of them totally uncompetitive (just like we have now with the FWD/AWD/RWD split).

FI Street tires vs R comp NA isn't a competitive class until one of us shows that it can be.
Jared was running either 1:13or 14 on street tires. That would beat any NA car on r-comps that I can think of... To make any of these suggestions into reality we need to stop trying to make the rules in favor of our own cars, and start thinking about what would actually make things realistically even.

BTW when I am thinking of putting FI in a class above FI, I am thinking aftermarket FI. So a 2.0t gti would run as part of the NA class as long as he has not done any power mods.

^^ what's a power mod? a Reflash on an S2K is not the same as a reflash on a GTi or anything that comes stock with a snail.

I think Jared NA on R-Comps beat Jared Blown on street tires (is it awkward that we keep throwing your name out there?). A few pages back:

"NA OLD V710 R-Comps: 1:10.9"

Street Fire class ftw

Not sure how to address the Z06 vs. Miata argument though...

This is the same guy that runs the same car 1:10's on R comps. So.... NO!

A few of us know whats actually realistic. As far as trying to place myself in a better winning position. I would rather be the underdog then the fast car in the bunch any day. I bought an S2000, not a Corvette. In actuality I'm racing for my own time anyway. I don't care what others are doing in the class I was put in should it come to that. I'd be happy with going to the normal lapping days if I was being timed. Lapping days are not a timed event though unfortunately.

It's all about data points... and Jared has many of them.

The Z06 vs Miata issue is really a displacement threshold issue. Anywhere you cut if off, someone is getting the short end. For good or bad, we have the most data points for the S2000, Miata, and Elise/Exige. Not a lot for most other cars. I don't remember numbers, but I recall that the Elise was a bit slower (generally speaking). Ray was faster than most S2000s, but he was the exception (the other guy that was really fast was FI).

Ray threw out 2200, which keeps the S2000s with the Miatas and Elises, and leaves the Porsches and Vettes to duke it out... is that a better split? I don't know, I don't have enough data in front of me.
