Default tire sizes

I need new tires and I heard that the star specs run a little wider. I was thinking of getting the Dirreza z2's, do these run wider as well? If so what size do I need for the rears?

Are you looking for stock ap2 wheels or an aftermarket setup?

Star specs were known to run a little wide, but every tire runs a slightly different width. With stock sizes you won't have any issues with rubbing. I would go with stock 215/45 up front and 245/40 rear as was stock or 255/40 on the cr.

Yeah the Z2 appear to be really close to the Z1 so given that and the narrow 7" front wheel, I would stick to the 215 for up front. The RE50 215 is closer to a 205 anyway so moving to the z2 is already an "upgrade" in width. The rear you could go with either one without rubbing issues as jet mentioned. Just realize with the 255 that its slightly taller profile and will throw your speedo off slightly, as well as lift the height of your rear end making it a little lighter feeling in maneuvering transitions, but the extra tire width will help compensate for that balance in traction, but as mentioned its really minimal. 24.7" to 25"

On an ap2 its not a terrible idea to have the rear slightly higher compared to the front anyway the way its balanced from the factory, with its tendency to push more. The wider z2 up front will help as well.

Ap1 had the opposite tendency with oversteer, surprisingly with the front tire profile taller then the rear, but I don't think that was engineered that way, just what the available tire sizes were in a 16" rim Honda deemed worthy.

More info then you probably cared for, but I'm bored.

I just need rears, and I don't want a wider tire. I was actually thinking of going with a smaller one to compensate for the wider z2. I just like the way stock 245's sit on the wheel. But I'm not paying $230 a tire when z2's are supposedly a way better tire for $184 a tire. Any thoughts?

Don't go narrower. In that case the 245 should be fine for you.

Yeah just stick to the 245 then. It wont be bulging on the stock wheel if that's what your worried about.

Sounds good. I just want the sidewall of the tire to sit flush with the wheel.
