Default Tire Experience

I know a lot of people ask about tires here, all-season vs two sets (summer/winter) etc.

I was wondering about a couple specific tires, and was wondering if anyone local could put their spin on their experience with the tires in our Seattle environment.

This is for the 09 Subaru WRX I just picked up, it comes with summer tires and I'm looking at going all seasons.

I've looked on TireRack, and the Continental ContiExtreme Contact seems to have one of the best ratings, and $110 a tire.

The Goodyear Eagle GT seems like a fairly new tire, but I'd guess it wouldn't be as good in light snow conditions as the Continental. $107 per tire

Bridgestone Potenza G 019 Grid are in a slightly lower performance category, still rate well. $111 each

I'm leaning towards the Continentals right now. The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's are nice, but I think kinda pricey for what you get.

Any local opinions on these specific tires? Or is there a specific All-Season performance tire that I'm leaving out and should consider?

I'm most likely going to order through Tire Rack and get mounted over at FTL per the forum suggestions.

I had the Contis on a RWD car for a year - they did the job just fine. Good deal for the price. Currently have the Michelin Pilot A/S as my winter tires on the Audi - good tire and probably o.k. for all year round if you don't need super high performance.

I heartily recommend the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S tires. They give up a bit of all-out snow traction to the ContiExtremes, but are cheaper and I think deal better with the rain we seem to get a lot around here. For our climate I think the Pirellis may be a better fit, but the Contis are also very good.

I currently have the yokohama advan s4. I like them, but I haven't really experienced a lot of tires to be able to compare them to others.

The Pzero Nero MS is pretty good. It's comfortable and quiet, does not hydroplane, brakes well... but not a ton of take-off grip. We have them on the AMG (I have no idea why my dad chose MS tires to replace the Pilot Sports...)

After going back and forth about this... ended up getting a set of winter tires. Hahah

Discount Tire gave me a great deal on a set of Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D's.
