Default Sway Bar or Strut Bar

Does anyone have any thoughts on getting a front strut bar under the hood and in the back? OR getting a a front and back underneath sway bar? Was looking at CompTech's stie and they have both.

It seems like they do the same thing but what are the pros and cons...?

Thanks

I used "strut tower bar" as an example of useless modifications in the FAQ. But nobody is going take exception because you asked a honest question.

The stock S2000's sway bars are perfectly fine and argueably optimal for use on public roads. Where replacement of these parts becomes a useful exercise is when you've modified other suspension parts or replaced the OEM specified tires with specific objectives in mind. The pratical reasons fall into one of two catagories:

Are you planning to autocross your car in the "A Stock" classification?

Want a checklist for tinkering with the suspension (notice sway bars aren't listed)?

Also, Comptech is/has going/gone out of business...

Yeah I heard comptech was going belly up, and i see there are some of their parts floating around for a decent price which is why i asked. As far as suspension...its all stock and i switch the OEM tires with bigger wheels and tires, but nothing with a specific goal in mind.

What size tires? If you upsized the fronts, you may benefit from a stiffer front swaybar..

Strut tower bar on our cars is just bling. Or cash down the toilet. However you like to look at it.

If you are looking for good deals on parts, cruising the For Sale forums may be a winning strategy. Generally speaking, the for sale forum is a buyer's market and regulars are much like jackels. They beat up sellers saying crap in the vain of "I've seen that for $100 less, recently." Recently might be 2002, but it seems to have a downward effect on prices. Overall, prices are usually below local Craigslist and Ebay.

If you want to tinker with the suspension but don't have intimate knowledge of the process, it would be worth entering a discussion thread. More importantly though, it really helps if you can verbalize what is the objective or problem. Alternately, there are a number of insightful threads in the Racing and Competition forum:

thanks for the info jerry. I was taking a look but its hard to narrow down useful threads and weed out the shitty ones.

Kremlin i am running 225s in the front and 255s in the back on 17" wheels. AP2 wheels on Pole Positions on a 03 AP1, by the way.

I felt a difference with the the front competition adjustable sway bar. I also added the rear sway later, but that increased oversteer. I quickly learned what SNAP oversteer is.

I have the front STB, but as stated above, it's just there for looks.

If you have your heart set on a front sway bar, I have a Muz sitting in my garage that I'll be selling.
