Default Sway bar question and Hello!

I'm the proud new owner of this 2004 and a new member of this forum:

The previous owner modded it to include wilwood brakes, tein coilovers and a sway bar in the rear. Upon inspection I noticed that the axle was in contact with the rear sway bar...

The guys at ZahnTechAuto informed me that this came about because the sway bar in the rear is actually a front sway bar installed incorrectly in the rear.

So....

I can remove it completely or I can replace it. Which would you do and why?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Welcome!

If you simply remove it the car will understeer like crazy ..... not a "dangerous" thing but you won't like it.

the comments about the car understeering surprise me given the reviews I've read, most of which claimed that the car was prone to oversteering...

(btw blacknwhite: I bought it specifically because it looked a bit different... I enjoy the look... to each his own I guess.. I've gotten a ton of compliments from people on it so I guess I'm not alone in that..)

No rear bar ..... understeer
Correct (stock) rear bar ..... maybe "prone to oversteer"
Front bar on back (too stiff a rear bar) ........ definitely "prone to oversteer"

BTW, It wasn't the last "the previous owner" that did all the mods you listed .... it was the guy 3 owners before him

Keep in mind he has aftermarket coilovers with unknown spring rates, so the statements above may no longer be true.
