Sunday Cruise to Mt. Saint Helens
So two weeks ago I rode my bike up the Spirit Lake Highway to the Johnson Ridge Observatory near Mt. Saint Helens. While I pedaled the 90 or so roundtrip miles I watched countless "assholes" in their topless sports cars enjoying the curvy road and think it would make a fun group drive. Me and my friend Will are gonna do it this Sunday and any of you are welcome to join us. The road is awesome really smooth and twisty with great views. It will probably be 70% cruise and 30% spirited driving as I expect it to be a busy weekend.
When: This Sunday September 4th
Destination: Johnson Ridge Observatory in the shadow of Mt. Saint Helens
Meetup: Tacoma Mall Krispy Kreme 9:00AM (4302 Tacoma Mall Boulevard, Tacoma, WA)
Route: Down I-5 to near Castle Rock then spirit lake highway to the Observatory and back again. Figure on being gone about 6-7 hours including some viewpoint stops and a lunch stop on our way back.
Lemme know if you have questions

I just did that last weekend. Say hi to the rubber I left in the Sediment Dam parking lot. You'll recognize it by the multiple circles going around the parking lot.

You should try the road to Windy Ridge instead. Less traffic, and just as fun. Saw a guy on a sport bike flying by with his knee to the pavement on Friday, just as I was starting the plummet to the bottom of the Smith Creek trail.
