Just got back from Chuckanut. I have to say I was not impressed. You have to drive too far to get to just a few minutes of twisties. And you have to drive 50 - 60 MPH in a 70 behind idiots in the FAST lane to get there!
I've had more thrills driving around Mercer and that's not saying much.
I called Francis when I got there but no answer; I got there a lot later than he did I'm sure.

Sorry about the no answer joe I was about halfway home with the top down and didn't see your call. I admit it wasn't the coolest drive curvywise but it is pretty senic and on a good day is great for pictures. I know a few roads that would leave you very satisfied. But another drive for another day.

i live in bellingham and could show you guys a road that would knock your socks off!
way better than chuckanut as there is never any traffic and speed signs for turns are posted well!
there's just no scenic water view!

Well if this helps any.
I just got back home from a 4 day trip in oregon and I must say Highway 101 i knew had some twists and turns...but wow.. it was ALOT...great scenec route as well especially when running up to canon beach
