Well everybody, I did get a deal struck with the organizers of the event, at least made them play their hand.

The organizers had discussed allowing first timers to their event a $25 discount. If you have run with them before, it is full price. He said since I asked, he would start doing this for us. I told him I had at least 10 people interested in coming. I know there is potential for a lot more, we could have the place flooded.

The event is 2 weekend track days, at Spokane Raceway Park (2.5 mile road coarse), with instructors. They split it into three different run groups, and sessions are 20 minutes long. Some of the instructors will be familiar to you if you go to Proformance race school.

Here is a list of possible attendees:
1. Jim (me CRX) Registered
2. Ray (S2000 NA) Registered
3. Ted (S2000 NA) Registered
4. Russ (WRX) Registered
5. Beth (TT) Registered
6. Erick (Porsche 911 RSA) Registered
7. Jeff (Homemadeturbo.com CRX LSVTEC) Registered
8. Adam (Homemadeturbo.com Civic Turbo d16) Registered
9. Jerry (S2000 SC) Registered
10. Mira (S2000 SC) Registered
11. Tom (BMW Z3 3.0) Registered
12. Young (S2000 NA) Registered
13. gota2d (S2000 NA)
14. This could be you!

This could be the making of a pretty fun weekend, here is a small sample of the itinerary:

Friday Oct 18th 3:00pm Leave Seattle (caravan) to Spokane ETA 9:00pm with stop for dinner in Ellensburg.
Check into Hotel, Hilton is close to Track.

Saturday Oct 19th 6:00am McDonalds/Chevron/Track

They provide lunch at the track on both days.

They also give coupons for free dinner on Saturday at a Buffet, but its pretty gross (Ray liked it though), so I recommend that we contact the Longhorn Barbeque to get a table or banquet room for us all.

There is also a Casino right there for some potential Saturday night action, or you can help work on Russ

Jim,

thanks for getting the ball rolling! When do we need to get registered?

I believe that Tom, a friend of mine and Russ', is planning on doing this event, too. He drives a BMW Z3 3.0, so he should fit right in with the hosts.

Who else wants to join in the fun?

Ted

It is first come first serve. They have room for quite a few cars since it is broken up into three run groups, but it is good to get signed up early if you want to go.

A couple of other things to keep in mind are that they require a snell 95 rating on your helmet, but if you do not have one, you can reserve a rental from them for $25. I think they give priority to new people on those.

Here is a layout of Spokane:

And here is the link to the BMW school information page:

Inland Empire chapter BMW Car Club of America Driving School

There is a one-lap video on their site to check out, as well as the signup information.

If anyone has questions, feel free to post it or shoot me or RT a PM since we both did this last June, and it is definately worthwhile to go back. It is a very fun track.

Hey gang this will be a great opportunity to watch Russ break out the tools to keep his Subaru running: assuming the car makes the five hour drive to the track.
