newbies. it needs to be officially down in order to get fixed properly.

repeated unofficial outages don't count.

Is this site hosted at a professional hosting service with tape backups and redundant power/generators... or is it in someone's basement?

On a related note, I wonder how difficult it'd be to switch to forum software that has a useful search function... something like the standard vBulletin 3.x

The nationwide Bimmer Forum, local BMW board, WRX/STi board, Miata forum, etc. are all powered by vBulletin.

They allow crazy searches like the following:
Search for "turbo" in the Forced Induction, S2KI Marketplace and PNW S2000 owners forums at the same time. You don't have to go to each forum and search separately. You can also search specifically by poster.

But I imagine this has been rehashed plenty of times and there may not be a way to transfer all the histroy from this forum app to a good one.
