Default SEA: Spark Plugs

hey guys...

just wondering how many of you have done the spark plug tsb...and which dealership did you go to. i've got an appointment this friday to have mine done at bellevue, but the lady that made my appointment said they'd need the car for 4 hours...isn't that too long to take off a valve cover, unscrew some sparkplugs, torque some new ones in, and put the valve cover on? or is there more to this tsb/recall then i thought?

on a side note, it was cool to see you on 405 jerry...on saturday afternoon...i figured you were heading up to vancouver for that porn thing up there...hope you had a safe and ticketless journey. i loved the sound of your car as you passed me when i was merging onto 405...and then when i passed you in the carpool lane......beautiful hum...oh and to let everyone know, the only reason why i could pass jerry was because he was stuck behind a couple of cars, while my path was competely clean...

anyways, input on the spark plugs would be awesome. ted? ray? jerry? anybody?

thanks, mike

One tip: make sure they actually really have the spark plug kit physically in hand for real.

Yeah, four hours seems rediculous. Probably for their convenience, at the expense of yours. And they won't give you a loaner or a ride, right?

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Ted

yeah, like your trip to bellevue when they said they had the kit but actually didn't...

well, i asked the lady if anyone else had called in and made appointments for their spark plugs, and she said yes. so i'm guessing you, ted, didn't actually go back and do the spark plugs yet? so i'm the guinea pig for the seattle group over at bellevue, huh!

will let everyone know how it goes...wish me luck!

mwy23,

I know you trust me.

Talk to Rick Massei and tell him Ben with the white S2000 sent you. He'll be honest and realistic with what he knows, what he can and cannot do, and will treat you right.

Bring him a 24 pack of Diet Coke if you really want to make an impression on him.

Good luck,
Ben

Mike,

correct, I haven't tried again. The screwup was with the parts people, I'm sure, not the service writer or technician.

I had my spark tsb done last Friday at Klein Honda. It only took 45 minutes.

4 Hours is too long......

I also had mine replaced last Friday at Renton Honda. Uneventful and no damage to the car.

I did indicate to their free car wash.

Got the Spark Plugs done over a week ago in Bellevue Honda. My guy said they have tons of the parts instock now. Btw, I work with the Gold team and Parker worked on my car. Took 2 hours with some other warrenty stuff, no problems
