I feel bad for the 4 kids along for the ride. Less so for the moron behind the wheel of daddy's supercar.

There's a lot wrong. Hell, there's a lot wrong with this generation's parenting in general. I see a lot of evidence of blank-check+no-supervision parenting on the Evo Forum.
This kid had the exact same attitude as Greeny does, but in a car with twice the power. I think Greeny thought we were being gigantic assholes to him, but we don't want to see another splattered car with a bunch of carcasses around it. And the reality is that most 18 year olds don't have enough time behind the wheel of a high performance car to handle one safely at/near the limit, ESPECIALLY on the road.

But let the record reflect that, when it came time to get a car for our eldest to drive (four our convenience, not his), we bought a used Hyundai Elantra wagon for him, and that car has done for all of our kids in order. You measure 0-60 on a calendar. We knew the kids would flog whatever we let them drive, so we decided that a gutless, un-sexy, fairly crash-worthy car was just the ticket.
David never drove my S2000 until the day we took the Proformance driving school together, and that was the only time he drove it for several years.
