Thanks for all the info everyone. I ended up getting a set of the AP1 wheels with newer tires on then for $250. I plan on using them for the track and then buying the DWS tires for my daily driving.
If your not already on them, use the ap2/17" wheels as the track wheels and the ap1 16" for winter. Makes the most sense for each particular use. Your going to get better hydroplaning resistance with skinnier tires along with the taller sidewall for more pliability for overall better grip in adverse conditions with the 16". And the exact opposite is desired for gripping the dry road at speed which the 17" are right for.
