Woohoo! Another 1.5 hours of sleep!

Looking forward to meeting the Seattle gang...maybe even a few "porn"-stars.

Silverpdx: Maybe you should also edit your first post with the new start-time just in case someone doesn't read to the bottom of this thread.

C'mon Seattle guys!!!! Wake up. This is going to be a nice scenic trip / monster drive. We'll be leaving Factoria - Billy McHales at precisely 7AM on Saturday morning (9/14/2002).

We'll drive down to Enumclaw and then go around Mt. Rainier via 410. We'll then make our way to Windy Ridge at Mt. St. Helens and hook up with the Portland dudes around 11am. From there, we'll head to the BBQ in Portland. We'll head back to Phoenix via I-5 later that evening.

So far, we've got two vehicles. At least one more would be nice!

Mapquest says it's going to be a 1334.6 mile drive.

I may be up for the drive to Windy Ridge but do we really need to leave by 7 AM ? I don't think I'll continue to Portland though....

I believe that the reason for the early departure is to be able to meet up with the Portland crew and still make the BBQ in Portland...not to mention the drive to Phoenix after we eat...

Oooops!!!!! I guess you can tell I lived in Phoenix a little too long. The sun baked my brain!

As for the Early start time, this is based on MapPoint's default time estimates. I think we will actually do a little better, but then again, there's also the possibility of traffic, detours, pit stops, scenic stops. If I add 10mph to the average speed in all of the road categories, we get to Windy Ridge at 10:30 instead of 11:00.

Just go to bed early tonight.

Just rounded up a guy on his ZZR1200 who wants to tag along ... he'll be there for sure. He's trying to talk his CBR929 buddy into going too ....
