Interesting, it works for me. Are you using Netscrape?

The model is a Sony DSC-P51. I went to all of the stores and demo models seemed thrashed no matter where I went. I liked the speed of the finder, the speed of the shutter, and it had all of the goodies I was looking for for under $250. In that price-range they all are almost the same as I found it to be.

Hmm, the link worked when I tried it again...

Looks like a good choice. Let us know how you like it!

Considering your price limit, I think you made a good choice. One very good factor is the fact that it takes 2 AA Batteries.

The P71 might be a better choice if you had the money, newer and a few refinements but still uses the 2 AA Batteries.

Look for some 1875 rated NMH batteries and a fast charger and you'll be set. Don't pay more than $18 for 4 batteries. I've seen them for $13.99 at Best Buy.

2 Megapixels I think will just about fill a 21" computer monitor set to a 1600x1200 Resolution... at least, it does on my monitor.

You'll probably want to reduce the photo file size before you email to any friends NOT on a cable or DSL connection.

I've been using ThumbsPlus from WWW.Cerious.com for years for managing all my graphics files. Download their free trial version and see what you think.

Then, shoot, shoot and shoot more photos to practice....

Have Fun!

Curt

Thanks for the feedback! So far I am thrilled. It is amazing how far cameras have come in five years. The reason I did not got with a 71 is because I was asking for this as a gift :-) I DID get the batteries you suggested, as well as a 64 meg memory stick. I tried to max the memory out with MPGs, and it did not even register. I have had a lot of fun learning (all over again)

BTW, welcome to the board and congrats on the buy! Where in Maple Valley do you live?

I got a Canon S200 Digital Elph for Christmas. Not a bad little camera. I bougt a 128MB card for and can't take enough pics to fill it. Need to pick up a second battery for it, though, cuz the first one lasted for "only" 120 pictures or so...

We both got spoiled this year!! Does it do MPG's? I tried to kill my 64MG card with them, and it did not even register.

Cool stuff man!

Yep...does MPGs, too. I wish it had a better zoom, but I'm still pretty impressed with the image for a 2.0 megapixel camera...

I took a total of 153 pics at 1024x768 and it didn't even make a dent in the capacity of the 128MB card...and the card was only $50!
