It is challenging--I'm not sure A Stock, with _all_ Corvettes, makes a lot of sense, but neither does any other class.

It must be free, since they don't talk about money.

I haven't completed the registration processes yet but the system tried putting me in Time Only for some reason.

No matter, my sis got a WRX and I would love to introduce this sport to her. So I am hoping she will join me for this event.

I'm planning to go.

Annie, does that mean I'm not serious?

Actually, I'm not serious enough (or good enough) to go to Yakima for one of these, when I can do one in Bremerton instead, with my son.
Hey Spider, I look forward to seeing you there. My son is going also. I offered to let him drive the S, but he wants to run his Civic against his buddies Del Sol. That should be pretty funny to watch.

I think every dude that ever drove a car thinks he has the driving skills of Mario Andretti, maybe a little better. I have to include myself in that group, and am not looking forward to the shattering of this illusion. My guess is that my skills are average, but at least I'll know for sure. Nervously looking forward to this. Tony

Truer words were never spoken. At least you know what's coming, so it will hurt less. The key is to keep coming back and improving your skills rather than perpetuating the illusion.

Another auto-cross virgin here... SWMBO is away 4/30-5/1 and 5/7-8 so I'll have some time available those weekends - any events going on that people are going to/are worth going to on those dates?

Are there any good websites for event schedules and also tips for avoiding looking totally foolish/doing something really stupid at your first event?

Thanks,
Roger.

Well, they're predicting rain Saturday; showers Saturday night, and showers Sunday. I'll check the forecast later this afternoon, but if there's not significant change, I'll pass on this one, unfortunately. That course is not nice when wet, and I've got to drive to work on Monday!

Well, I went to my first auto-cross today with my dad (Tony, or Propnuts) and had a blast. Unfortunately my friend with the Del-Sol had to work so I wasn't able to take my civic out there and race him. The upshoot of the story though is that I decided to drive my dads '05 S2K and my oh my what a blast. We were in second session and by that time the track was getting dry, and with two of us keeping the tires warm the grip was astounding. My best raw time and my dads were fairly close so I'm really happy. I guess to sum it up I would have to say that 1) it was a blast and a half. 2) The S2000 is an INCREDIBLE car. As my dad put it "I think every dude that ever drove a car thinks he has the driving skills of Mario Andretti, maybe a little better." I'm not going to claim to be as good as Andretti, but he better watch his mirrors!
I hope to get to more Auto-Crosses, but Hydroplane racing keeps me pretty busy.
Mike
