Moving to the Seattle area!
Hello all!
My friend and I are going to be moving to the Seattle area and are looking for a place to live. We have been looking for about a month and half now and haven't really found that perfect place yet. We want to live somewhere in the Seattle area preferably on a bus line that goes into downtown. We are looking for a 2BR townhome, condo or apartment. We would prefer a 12-month lease with a rent of ~$1300-$1400 (excluding utilities). A garage or reserved parking spot would be nice. We found a nice, brand new townhome on Rainier Ave S but am not sure about the neighborhood. We are both 22 years old and would prefer to live in a cool neighborhood with restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc. within walking distance. We are both non-smokers and are pet free. Spotless rental record. If you know of anything for rent or can suggest some good areas to look that'd be great!!
Thanks in advance!!

Have you checked out Northgate? zSpeedzkwy live's in a nice area and has a secured parking garage. (Although, "secured" isn't always that. A co-worker living in a downtown apartment went out to his parking garage, only to find his Acura Legend show car up on blocks w/ no wheels.)

Rainier Ave isn't where you want to be.
Northgate should have an abundance of 2BR townhomes in that price range. You may even be able to find a 2BR SFH. Either way, you're looking at a small 1 car garage or a single parking space in a shared "secure" lot. 1-5 blocks from 99 (Aurora) is good, the 358 bus runs down 99 to downtown.
West Seattle, Ballard, Fremont... lots of options.
BTW, nearly every bus on Metro's system goes downtown. Some are just faster than others (358 is much faster than 5, which runs somewhat parallel, for example).

We are going to look at a brand new townhome this afternoon. It's a 2BR, 2.5BA right on 113th by Northgate. Has GREAT access to the 5 and is on a bus route that goes downtown.
Thanks for the advice on the bus routes, Billy.
