Join the Speed Ventures S2000 Challenge!
Hi PacNW folks!
Just getting the word out -- it's been a but slow ramping up, but the 2005 Speed Ventures S2000 Challenge is underway!
The Challenge is open to all S2000 drivers -- just "sign up" here (only so we know where to class you):
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=274603
(Note: You can read the rules of this friendly competition here:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=274601 )
Yeah, I know there are no tracks scheduled for the PacNW region (take it up with fluxen or desert tortoise!), but it's worth the drive down if you can make it! If you're a beginner, this is your chance to learn from some of the fastest S2000 drivers anywhere. With our new NOVICE classes, everybody's welcome, and you'll only be competing against your peers! And best of all, everyone who went to Cal Speedway is already in the points! (Of course, you don't have to have gone to Cal Speedway to join the fun now!)
Our next event is at Buttonwillow Raceway April 15th. It's a great track for the S2000 and a great track to learn on!
Hope you can join us, and see you at the track!
-John

Many of us have been down to CA once or twice, and would love to go more often. But it ain't likely to happen on a regular basis, you know? If they did schedule a track up here, how many of you would come up and drive it?

Hey John thanks for getting the word up to us. Don't mind Mike, he just gets a little grumpy sometimes
BTW, Did you get those ball joints popped and that secret weapon installed? Does it work?

Heh, no offense taken. Would *love* to drive any of the PacNW tracks; it's just a problem of scheduling and $$... (But if SV had a date up there I'd be on it in a heartbeat!) Maybe on my next visit to Portland cbender will get us a track day and let me drive his car...
Got the BSK in just fine; thanks again for the link to that tool! It seems to work pretty well (see the thread going on in R&C right now), but I won't know just how good it is till I try it at Cal Speedway and Big Willow...
