I got my baby! New s2k owner in Belltown
Hi everyone,
I made a post several months back stating that I was a newbie to the area, as I live in Belltown, right in front of Real Networks on Western Ave, and I was looking to potentially buy an s2k from someone in the forums. Well, that won't be necessary. I am proud to announce that I am now an s2k owner. I got the sweetest deal on my baby, had to brag/share a bit.
My background - I was a sophomore in college in '00 when the s2k came out. From the day I first saw it, I knew that the s2k was the car for me, the one thing I always wanted. For the next 6 years, the desktop picture of my laptop at home and my cpu at work were pictures of the s2k. I moved to Japan for 3 years after I graduated college, and it made no sense to own a car there (believe me, no one should own a car in Japan,) so I pined for one but never had the resources. Until now. After waiting 7 years, I have found the perfect car for me, and I would like to think that I'll be buried in it. To quote Kevin Spacey in American Beauty - "It's the car I've always wanted, and now it's mine. I rule!"
My new ride - '05 Silverstone w/ Red/Black interior. 22K miles, built 7/16/05, absolutely dead mint. Purchase price - 23k flat+tax=25.1K OOD.
How did I get such a price, you ask? Wholesale, my friends. I found a guy in portland who mispriced his car on a Craigslist post, called him up, and bought it over the phone. It's a 1 owner, california car, that was sent to the wholesale guy after being traded in for a new Bentley in L.A., and he became the broker for it. I have already been in to Honda of Bellevue to speak with Glen Love, who looked it over and pronounced it to be a completely mint car. (BTW, thanks to those who posted about Glen for getting work done on your car, he's definitely a good dude, and will be my mechanic for all my work.)
Sorry I don't have pics up, but as she's completely stock, there's not much to see that you all don't already know about.
Anyway, I wanted to say hi to all of y'all, and I look forward to being an active member of the group, now that I actually have the keys to my dream ride.
Hope this wasn't too long-winded, but I'm just so damn happy.
Cheers,
Brendan

congrats man glad you're fulfilling a mini dream of yours. refreshing to see someone so passionate about one car that's rather doable.
$23K doesn't seem like a screaming deal to me tho so not sure what you're kinda boasting about.

Congratulations to you. The car is worthy of the love. If you live in Belltown - find a secure garage.

Awesome, I just picked up my S2k on the 15th, so 2 new Seattle S2000's around I lived in U district and BT before where I'm at now (Issaquah) and I had an Evo that was broken into 3 times. So definitely get a garage for the S2k or you will be replacing that soft top soon.
