Howdy. S2k newbie checkin' in - Belltown area
Hi PNW S2k crew,
My name's Brendan, pleasure to "meet" you all! I am a hardcore s2k fan, and have been pining after my own s2k since I saw the first presskit for the car back when it launched in '99/'00. I have finally reached a point in my life where I can afford to get my very own s2k without causing financial ruin, and I'm so excited! I've joined this group in the hopes of meeting other enthusiasts in the area and hopefully get some tips about where I can get my new baby.
Since my desktop on my computer all through college and also at my job in Japan has been a silver S2k, I am targeting either an '03 AP1 with red/black, or more likely I want to get an '05 Sebring Silver AP2 w/ Red/black interior (yep, I am pretty selective), and am willing to wait to get exactly what I want. Does anyone know where I can find a nice '05 for around 24K? I negotiated with Lexus in Fife for an '05 Silverstone with red/black interior, but they wouldn't go below 25k, and with taxes being so terrible here...it came to 27.5k OTD....it had almost 30k miles...was 25K a price that's inline with the area?
How does pricing seem around this area, it seems to be really high in the PDX/SEA area compared to the rest of the country, am I right?
For the tax questions I saw: I moved to SEA from PDX, and since I had bought my Prelude in OR, I would have been subject to Use Tax for the car, but I just kept it in OR for 3 months and when I brought it up and got it washington plates, I was able to avoid paying the taxes....Has anyone else tried this? I saw that someone else was confused about tax issues, just thought I'd throw my story out there!
Anyway, it's a pleasure to join the group and I look forward to being involved in the community. Please feel free to shoot me a PM if you know where I can get a Sebring '05 with red/black too!
Cheers,
B~
