Default help with rotors...

hey, im changing my brakes and rotors an need some help. my situation is i got the calipers an such off an those 2 little screws out but the rotor itself wont budge, is it supposed to be that hard to take off? i tried hammering it an it wont move. thanks in advance.

spray some lube on the center bore and hit it from the back and rotate till it comes off.

Next time, especially if you don't have any lube, just use a bigger hammer. Deadblow hammers work best for this kind of thing, because they don't bounce back and hit anything else.

Failing that, just drill the heads off the screws. I tracked the car for six years without them. But if you are stickler, the replacement screws are probably a lot cheaper than the brain damage or tools to save the rusty ones.

When I first read it, I thought that was the problem. But he already had removed the screws. He was just afraid of bashing on the rotor hard enough to break it loose.

yea those 2 screws came out easy with an impact driver, i just needed to hit the rotors harder to pop loose.
