Has the S2000 made you into a sports car snob?

i'm officially jealous. my buddy Daryl is driving home now with his newly purchased '04 911 GT3.
at least I get to drive it once in a while.

sorry, it takes me so long to reply.
work had kept me from visiting this site.
In defense of the nsx, if you really don't mind the old age, an earlier model literally not losing any money in last 5 years. (Given it follows the maintanence inteval and no problems.)
Case in point, I purchased a 91 with 26k 2 years ago with I/H/E. For that same money, I don't think I could buy a 02 S2k, so I'm settle with the 00/01.
Now, I believed I could see my car at about the same price I purchased at (minus all my mods.). I doubt that I could get more than 20k with a 00 s2k. One thing though, it must be through aftermarket. My buddy who had a 93 nsx went to Subaru dealership and thinking for getting a Sti. The salesman said they would give him 10k for his car. Well, it's a bad experience, but of course we just walked out and I would probably never go back to the dealership...
Anyway, regarding the straight line performance, I would say on a drag strip and dumping clutches, nsx would probably not that much faster than the S2k. But like everyday driving and with rolling start, nsx's low end torque is much better than s2k thus a more livable power band in everyday driving. Mike Garrison could attest that
I do agree the S2k does have the 10/10 driving fun factor. Elise, I really don't know how everyone thinks it's a upgrade... It really is a toy, a street legal go kart.

I guess in my opinion the driving fun factor would be that much better in an elise. Plus, the fact that I personally like the look of the elise. It's styling is a lot more aggressive than a S, IMHO.
I still see people do double takes on an elise where the last time I got a double take was when I drove by a high school and some kids yelled out "VTEC!" LOL. They prob would have pissed their pants if I had a carbon fiber wing and neon lights shooting out of my tail pipes.
NSX is a great car btw. I don't mean to disrespect it.

Hey Ben, just curious but what mods do you have on your S?
My next car will be a 2004-2005 E46 M3ci. I love convertibles, but the E46 M3cic has too many rattles and weighs 400lbs more.

why dont you just call it the M3 drop top? that whole Ci thing is confusing.
E46 M3 is a good car, but not as fun to drive as the S2000. The M3 cabrio with hard top slammed on deep dish 19s looks better than the coupe.

Haha I remember reading you had an SC and you had both LMs and FM-10s... I was honestly asking what you had because I havent't seen threads or pictures of your car..
The M3 coupe is 400 lbs less, so it definitely performs better. The drop top is nice to cruise in, but shit rattles like hell with it. Yes, slammed on 19s with the hardtop it looks like pure sex.
I don't know which one I'd buy. I think I would buy SMGII, but maybe not. All I know is Alpine/Imola!!

As for the M3, I like it because it's a solid commuter type car that can go. It's not "fun" to drive. A car that's really, truly an experience to drive is a 911. Try it out if you haven't already. Even the N/A 996 is a sweet, sweet ride.
I'd get the automated manual, but then, the best way to go is the dual clutch style DSG and I believe BMW is also heading this way.
