Default Got a front plate ticket today

While parked on the street in Tacoma... was there about an hour and came back to see the parking enforcement had left a ticket for $86 for no front plate while parked, such bullshit that they do this crap to a parked car

Sucks.

Guess this is happening in the south end now as well, there was a thread about it happening up north https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=692266 but using meter maids to do it is a new tactic.

Better to get it for a parked car than a moving car. It's cheaper and it doesn't go on your driving record.

And it's not a "new tactic". Other people have reported the same in Seattle and elsewhere.

Was the car also illegally parked? Or was this the only ticketed item? I'm curious if this was a primary enforcement or a secondary one.

These threads always amaze me.

Either put a front plate on, or don't whine about the consequences of intentionally violating an innocuous law.

its about getting the ticket while parked... i know not having one im setting myself up to get a ticket, but its a bullshit way to get it

only item ticketed, i saw another car parked close later in the day with no front plate but the ticket only said $15 on it.. so im guessing they just got ticketed for being over the time limit, kinda bs

A distinction without a difference.

You broke the law. You knew you were breaking the law. You got a ticket. You'd be happier if it were a moving violation?

Where's the beef, exactly?
