The thing is, I got the car used from Bob Hall Honda in Yakima, the dealership didn't have the front plate, therefore I don't have the front plate. How is is my responsibility to have both were originally issued??????
I'm sorry Kelvin, you need to stop assuming stuff and base your arguments on something solid, like a RCW or SMC.
Thanks

RCW 46.16.230, two liscense plates are issued for most vehicles. Trailers, semi-trailers and motorcycles are issued only one license plate.

two were probably issued to your car but you just don't have the other one because the last owner threw it away. you don't have to try to convince us that you are a law abiding driver, just wait til you get a ticket. you will have plenty of time to explain.
they always issue two plates in WA.
maybe that applies more to motorcycles?
Edit: Damn kelvin posted while i was.

Anyone have any thought on this issue??
1. Go postal.
2. Pay the toll and move along.
When you signed your drivers license you signed a contract and gave up some of your personal rights.
You should have reserved your rights when you signed the contract. Better luck next time.

Your car was issued 2 plates when it was registerd....the prevoius owner tossed the front plate...and yes this is YOUR problem...as YOU are driving the car now.
most cops know this, no matter what side of the bed they got up on

Plead not guilty and get a court date. In the meantime, call up the DoL and explain the situation. They will probably issue you new plates for (IIRC) about a $14 fee. Put the new plates on the car and take a picture of it. Keep all the DoL letters and records.
When you go to court, tell the judge your story. Show him that you bought new plates and show him a picture of them on the car.
Most likely the judge will waive the fine as long you aren't being a jerk about it. But if he doesn't, there's not much you can do about it.

Thanks Mike, that was a very good idea. But I think I'll have an attorney from my office to do the work, he has already agreed to do the work for me if I buy him lunch on Monday.
Really appreciate your input Mike.

why did you just decide to ignore the list of vehicles that are only issued with 1 plate?
The s2000 obviously falls under none of those.

Sure it said "Trailers, semi-trailers and motorcycles are issued only one license plate", it DOES NOT mean that ONLY trailers, semi-trailers and motrocycles are issued only one license plate. I have no doubt in my mind that S2000 are issued with two plate when it was originally registered with the State of Washington, but I DON'T HAVE TWO, I HAVE ONLY ONE.
Furthermore, it said "Two license plate are issued for most vehicle." MOST, NOT ALL vehicles.
I am no lawyer but I've come across with a lot of arguments in court concerning one or two words different in the law, one or two word make a big difference in the court of law. I might be wrong because I'm just a intern attorney that currently still attenting law school, how long have you been practicing law?
