Thumbs down Driver hit 150 mph on 520 bridge

http://www.komonews.com/news/local/88955177.html

SEATTLE -- Washington State troopers on Saturday arrested a man who was allegedly speeding across the State Route 520 bridge at more than 135 miles per hour.

Trooper Dan McDonald said Vladislav O. Orlovskii, of Bellevue, was booked into jail for investigation of DUI and reckless driving.

The incident began about 1 a.m. when a trooper spotted Orlovskii's 2008 BMW M6 speeding in the eastbound lanes of SR-520, but the BMW was still quickly pulling away when the trooper reached speeds of 130 mph.

McDonald said the trooper believed the BMW hit about 150 mph while weaving between other cars on the two-lane bridge.

The trooper slowed down when the chase became dangerous, but another trooper east of the high rise on the bridge was able to stop the BMW on the exit ramp to 84th Street in Medina.

Orlovskii was obviously impaired, McDonald said, but the man gave troopers no explanation for why he was driving so fast.

McDonald said that from the time the trooper spotted Orlovskii's vehicle to the time of stop, the BMW traveled 2.59 miles in 1 minute 8 seconds, which is an average speed of 137 mph.

Orlovskii, 24, has been cited for multiple driving infractions, including at least twice for reckless driving.

"He's just an extremely aggressive driver," McDonald said.

Orlovskii posted bail over the weekend and has not yet been charged.

The vehicle Orlovskii was driving is seen in a photo posted to the m5board.com Web site.

During the traffic stop, Orlovskii gave no explanation for the speed. Troopers said his eyes appeared to be "bloodshot" and "watery" and they were concerned that Orlovskii was intoxicated, according to booking paperwork.

According to the State Patrol, Orlovskii registered a breath-alcohol content of 0.081 percent upon arrest.

A time/distance calculation revealed that from the time the first trooper spotted Orlovskii's car to the time of the stop, the Bellevue man had covered 2.59 miles in exactly 1 minute, 8 seconds; which is an average speed of 137 mph, or 201 feet per second.
breath-alcohol content of 0.081..

I wonder what the outcome of this will be.

This guy is pretty much hosed. If he has two prior reckless convictions in the past seven years (he's 24 right?)... those count as priors in a DUI arrest and exacerbate his mandatory sentencing/plea scenario. Blowing the .81 will guarantee a trip to Sing-Sing for 90 days.

This guy won't have a driver's license for a while:

I guess this goes deeper. One of the comments on Seattle Times is quite interesting:

Includes two reckless driving in the past. I thought Russian parents were strict...this is just plain horrible parenting.

Here is his parent's information:

Father is legitimate russian mafia. The other partner, Arkhadi's son, looks to have a history of reckless driving as well. This is really starting to look interesting.

I don't know if Linda Jacke is being threatened by the Orlovskii's or bribed but she has got to be the worst judge in washington history for letting this guy go on a $125 ticket with all of his priors. Someone should look into her history and see if she has other connections to mob / mafia.

Can't the .01 difference be within the range of error? Hopefully they did a blood alcohol test in the drunk tank.

Vladislav O. Orlovskii, 24, was arrested on investigation of drunken driving and reckless driving. Orlovskii posted bail and was released from jail a few hours after his arrest.
Don't quote me that he got into his car. But I am assuming. Maybe not. But he Posted Bail and Left.
