Default diagnosis help needed

so when im driving my car i hear this *squeak squeak skqeek* and its with the rotation of the wheels. drivers side. im assuming its brake related as when i lay my foot on the brakes it goes away. is this the sign of a pad dragging or is it more likely that theres something lodged in there? note its 1 squeak per revolution (i think) of the wheel(s)

also is this common? cause its wicked annoying

Yes its brake related, change the pad and resurface the rotors and you'll be good to go!

If you jack up the car, do the wheels spin freely?

My car does the same thing. I'm thinking it's either because I didn't use enough of that black "pudding" stuff when swapping pads, or something is lodged in there. It doesn't seem to hinder performance, so I've been living with it, but it is indeed annoying.

Did you change pads recently? How much life is left on them?

could be break dust, could be a bad wheel bearing. Jack it up and check things out. That's the only way you're going to find out.

Typically this happens when the metal wear indicator on the pad is starting to make contact with the rotor. Check your pads first.
