CF is only acceptable imo if it's functional. I hate all day on CF appliques like mirror covers, glue-on b-pillars, stick-on dash kits, etc.... You see alot of ill-fitting CF hoods/trunks/hatches these days. Up close the weaves don't match, they're wavy, they crack all the time, the hinges and latches crack, stress marks and yellowing appears after a short period of time, etc... Then you've got the cheap ones that are more fiberglass skeleton than CF, hardly weighing anything less than stock aluminum hoods. Sometimes even equal or heavier.
Bottom line, it can look great if tastefully done with high-quality parts that fit well, with matching weaves, and are actually functional.

Showing the "tasteful, well-matched weaves" is all about the bling. Not that there is anything wrong with that....

Show me one that's been done that way and maybe I'll change my mind.

Really "functional" CFRP rarely has "weaves" at all. It's usually built up from unidirectional layers. And painted.

As far as matching weaves, it's the same thing as painting your body kit and ensuring that the paint matches perfectly. Nothing to do with "bling," just having a clean/uniform look.

There are definitely plenty of good examples out there, but unfortunately it's relatively rare.
