Default Car accident

Hey I was involved in a car accident last night. A kid in a civic ran a stop sign and hit me. Does anyone know of a good body shop? Also, should I get a lawyer?

Usually no need to get a lawyer, unless you have some unusual circumstances. Sounds like there should be no question the other driver is at fault. I assume the other driver had insurance.

Some people prefer to negotiate directly with the other guy's insurance company, but my own preference is to file a claim with my insurance company and let them deal with the other insurance company.

You will want to file a police report, unless one has already been filed.

I agree and this is what I do. Let the insurance companies sort out the mess. You have plenty to worry about in the mean time.

You have 24 hours to file a Police report. While you may assume, I would still double check that one was generated at the scene of the accident. A Police report can be instrumental if legal proceedings are initiated at a later date. Your life can get rather difficult if there isn't already a report on file and the other driver enters facitious information into the record. CYA!
