anyone local have a J's lip?
cant decide between an amuse lip or a Js front lip. id like any and all opinions on these two lips. the j's lip is actually a half bumper. good/bad/ugly comments welcome. also, id like to kno if anyone local has this as well... so i can look for something else.. and ben hyung, all comments welcome. i kno you think the amuse looks like ass, but what about the js?
AMUSE
J's
if you notice in the J's pic, the lip is molded to the bumper so the half-bumper line is gone.
thanks everyone!!!

I'd have to lean towards the J's. Looks cleaner without the half bumper lines but that lip sticking out... You could drill some holes in there and play cribbage when you're bored...
I have a Gears lip if you would like to consider them as an option...

I don't really care for the Amuse lip either. To me - it makes the car look like a catfish.
The J's looks better to me. I like the way it flows into the skirts in that pic. Those 19's (IMO) are so ghetto though...
Please, Mike - tell me you aren't going 19" bling on us! Is it me, or do the Hagens only come in a non-staggered setup?
I dunno... The only lip I really like so far is the OEM. I also am rather hard on spoilers/lips etc. so I would want one that would be easily replaced/repaired/removed...

IMO (for the wrs2k police out there in internet land)
amuse
amusing is right. the amuse lip looks like ass, or more specifically, it looks like nasty ass. pass.
j's
this one's the only aftermarket lip other than the bys (lower version) that i'd sport on my car. molded or not molded. molded would be nicer. but one thing i find kinda weird is that if u look at a j's lip equipped car from the profile view, it looks as if the j's lip is angled up as if it's getting ready to scoop dog shit up or something- as if the chin of the s2000 is angled up a bit. check out turbo_pwr's car for an example. maybe it's the camera, but i'm starting to think it's the design cuz i noticed it on dxlst's car as well.
recommendation for dong seng
go with the amuse. you're going to crack that j's lip and you're going to curse yourself for spending easily $1K + to get that thing on the car painted. no matter how careful i am, there are numerous times where i scraped my oem lip on some curb. count on replacements. the j's lip takes forever to get and then u gotta paint it again and then u gotta drive ever so carefully again. also if you stongard that puppy, a custom cut for it is going to cost u a pretty penny. and if u put it on and decide to go for something later, you're bound to have scuff marks on your OEM bumper which you'll have to repaint or just deal with (it'll look pretty bad)
with that said, it's all up to you. either way it's better than going lipless on the s2000. and no worries about the unique thing. 95 percent of the s2000s i see in seattle are completely stock.

thanks for the input...
brandon (4ig) is actually selling a urathane j's front bumper... that is, he made a mold taking an OEM bumper and a j's lip and put it together into one package... guaranteed 100% fitment or money back...
so the urathane j's would be a lot more tougher than fiberglass, and if i dont like it, i can take the entire bumper off and put my OEM one back on. not too expensive either... i learned from everyone else's mistakes to NOT go fiberglass EVER. either abs plastic (prefered) or urathane (not close to as nice as abs plastic, but much more durable than fiberglass)
im leaning toward the Js rite now... and no jeff, no 19" bling. i went 18" bling... as soon as swap out my suspension, ill take pics. im not gonna let people flame my 4x4 s2000 sittin on 18's!!!

The white S with the J's lip has to be the sweetest and most tastefully modified S I have ever seen. I know that does not help you, thanks for sharing the pic though! That is sweet!
Mike (Would have stuck with a smaller wheel though)

If the vendor pulls thru on his promises, great.
But I read thru the GB thread and there's already a caveat in it re: molding. The price will still approach ~$1K per bumper.
The most cleanly modded S2000 is the now stickerless Algaehater car (his exhaust is still ghetto though )
Good luck,

I'm relieved to hear that you are not going ghetto fab w/ 19s. Fine for a show car - but pretty damn useless otherwise.
to the AlgaeHater mobile. Looks great. If only BBS made a little better offset for our car...
Who does fender rolling and how much does it run? I may go with a little 18" bling for the street myself at some point.

Nah... you go to Ray for the real serious stuff, not rice mods.
Lig, go for the S2Rs. I know you love them. hell, i love them too and i'd offer up a chance to race me on a straightaway to see how much slower you will be cuz of the added unsprung weight! i know we were pretty even that one time.
Carnutz can do the job easy. cheap too.
