Correct, metric measurement.

Just want to add something, the 500 yard # is kind of the break point for the small caliber, some will say it is effective to 700 or 800 but I think it's really getting spent by that distance. Look at the ballistics charts of the respective rounds and the large calibers carry much more energy down range.

If you want to start looking beyond assault rifles then you can have it all with some practice.

also, think about if you are really going to ever take that long of a shot. i personally wont, but i want soemthing that i can control better for a qiucker follow up shot.

thus i personalyl prefer the 5.56/.223 but thats a personal take. i also like .38 over 9mm so whatever.

When you are shooting at a deer or a paper target, closer is better (until the deer runs away). I have never been in that situation, but I suppose that when you are shooting at someone who might shoot back, hitting him at long range is a good thing.

Yep, 100-300 yards is the normal range for 90% of shots taken. Four and two leg targets.

Not with the weapon I used to hunt with. 20-40 yards was more like it.

The only deer I ever got with a rifle, though, was probably about 200 yards.

Don't be hijacking this train with your Terrible Ted lifestyle. But my point stands.

RCWs say that private property owners get to set the rules as to things like this. You carry a firearm onto Boeing property, and you get fired (if you are caught). Even if it's locked in your car when parked on a company-owned lot.
That may be, but Boeing does not have the right to search your car.

Actually, they do, if you park it on their property. It's a condition of parking it on their property. There are signs posted all over the place that everything and everyone who comes on to Boeing property can be searched. If you don't like it, take the bus to work.
