Anyways what do you guys think I should do tire wise? My rear tires are pretty bad about 1mm of thread left. Im about to order a new rear set of S02's but do you think I should mount them for the up coming autox on sept 5 or should run my old tires. Does rear thread matter in the dry? (if its wet I won't go)

Also what tire pressures do you run. I experiemented with tire presures at the enduro and I don't think it was a good idea. I had 38psi up front and 36psi in the rear. (After I got home they rear 40 up front 38 in the rear.) Should I run the tire pressures the same all around?

I haven't run S02s for so long... forgot what pressures I used. Don't think they were quite as high. I'd get some other opinions (since I'm just not really sure ) but I'd start 34F/32R or somewhere thereabouts...

A lot of what you do with regards to tire pressures has to do with how the car is behaving.

Have you checked the auto-x FAQ? There is all kinds of good stuff in there and it might help.

Your choice on new vs. bald - I personally think they were pretty grippy when new but if you're concerned about wear - don't think it'll make *that* much difference if you run the old ones.

Why does WWSCC post those things on the web? Various people have reported having their car insurance be cancelled because autox entries have been used as proof that the car is being driven in competitions.

So far - I think it's just Mitsui that is actually scanning the web for participants.

The thing is - you drive home without knowing exactly how you did vs. the other session. This way - you know exactly how you finished relative to the field and your individual class.

Thats why you need a generic name like John Le. Hmm maybe I'll say my cars a different year and be less descriptive. Getting your insurance cancelled doesn't sound fun.

I felt bad for the SS guys though. I think it was the second WW event in a row where they were the first ones out on the course. That lot is never used, so it was really dirtly.

I was the 9th car out, and man, there was a lot of dirt/gravel all over the place. I feel really bad for the first 2-3 guys who had to brave the gravel.

The afternoon session guys lucked out, especially with everyone cleaning off the course, laying rubber down, and the sun came out too.

Lig, you did well!

And look at Joe Goeke's time though, 37.26 in a BS car! :cool:

I felt really lucky I ran in the 2nd group, I remember from being in 1st group last year how dirty that place is. I had an absolute blast at this one, even though I still haven't trophied! Way to go Lig!

I also agree with Lig that this is the most fun car I've ever driven! So much fun, and it just keeps getting better. Off to Bremerton this weekend, WooHOO!!

p.s. --> for those S-02s, maybe try the manual's suggested pressure? I was running higher in my S-03s, but going back to 31-32 has been way better. They seem to warm up pretty quick.

Last year I was the 2nd car out. It was squirrely as hell.

I agree with Standard on the tire pressures - IMO the S02s have pretty stiff sidewalls - it feels more grippy to me starting out a bit lower.
