Default Will there be skating on the canal this year?

With today being the balmy temperature that it is and the long range looking warm my guess is that there may not be skating on the canal or outdoor rinks in Ottawa this year if it keeps up! Only unless we get some -20 or -30 weather soon!

An El nino winter + global warming = a nice mild canadian winter!

Has there been any other years where people can remember the canal not freezing in the last while?

I'm sure it will get cold soon enough. Last year was really cold then we had a thaw, this is kind of normal, cold then thaw, then cold cold cold.

I'm hoping for a warm winter but I suspect it will get cold eventually and probably in time for winterlude in Feb it always is open.

I'm really hoping for a warm winter!

As I get older I enjoy cold weather less!

Dude, you need to head to the gym That snow was plentiful but light and fluffy too no time to clear the driveway.

Remember "bend with the knees, not the back" when shovelling.

I stand corrected as we are in a deep freeze!

Hopefully it doesn't last long! THis reminds me too much of Winnipeg!
