Default Top repair shops / materials

Anyone ever got their top repaired either by a shop or by yourself? Any shop recomendations?

Im wondering because i have a hair size tear on my top (about 1 inch long) on the drivers side. I just want to repair it cause i'll have a hardtop eventually. Is it better to saw it or just patch it? What materials did you use and where did you buy it?

Let me know
Thanks
Pat

Check out Mountain Equipment Co-op. They may have a good water-proof repair kit for tents.

It works, has the same texture as the soft top. Lot of function at a low cost... if you are just holding out on a hard top there is no point in spending lots of money on this. (IMO)
