Default rims fading

It looks like the polished lip on my rims is starting to fade. Does anyone have any ideas how I can restore the shine again?

Im pretty sure there is a shop here in Ottawa that specializes in wheel/rim refinishing. There was a guy on Redliners that had his Volk's with a polished lip redone and he was pretty happy with the finished producted. If I come accross the name I will let you know. Im pretty sure the shop is in Knata somewhere, not 100% though?

Does it just need a cleaning and coat of wax? Maybe some chrome polish?

Sounds to me like Wing said they may just need a good cleaning. Please post pictures if you can. I imagine that the rims aren't that old. Sounds a little odd to me.

Ditto on that. A polish on the clear coat should do it. I would think the finish would be so far gone to require a "repaint" now.

I'll get some pics to post. It's almost seems stained rather then faded. I can see whitish streeks as if some chemical was poured on the rim and it stained it. I hope its not the tire dressing thats causing this.

Have you tried to take a cloth and some good soapy water to it? It could be the dressing! Some of those dressings have some oils that could stain a bit. Need to see the pics!
