Very interested.!
will participate at the very least,in one of them;not only as a spectator, like last time.(was on a too tight schedule!)
What are the rules ?
Do I need anything special?
Is it an "all system go"?
Emil.

All you need is minimum Snell95 rated helmet and a safe car. There are loaner helmets, like rented bowling shoes. If you're going to buy a helmet make sure to get a Snell2000 (2000 is the year of approval) or higher. Next year that will be the minimum safety rating.
The MCO runs a simplified 4 class system (A-D) with a novice class. It's based on a variant of the Solo1 classification with prep points. But it doesn't matter for us, since S2000's are base class A, i.e. highest. Novice is someone that has participated in 3 or less events from previous seasons. Note that most serious competition oriented events use a SCCA variant classing that is mucho complicated.
Solo2 is fastest run of the day. So you could suck for the entire day, but have one good run and still do well. We tend to get around 6+ 1 minute runs per event. This is actually really good as far as other clubs go.
Since this would be your first time, arrive early. The car has to get tech'ed, and you will want to walk the course as much as possible before running. Gates come up fast, and it is easy to get lost in the sea of cones if you're not used to it. Also, the MCO runs a more fun event, so are not super critical on competition rules. We allow competitors to ride as passengers. This is very helpful for learning the course and getting an idea how a good run should feel.
