Looking for mechanic to install 4.57R gears?
Hey gang,
Im looking at getting the Richmond 4.57-R F/D gear set. I wanted to see if anyone here can recommend someone, or a shop that could install this for me. I know there are a few reputable shops in town such as Tapp Auto, whom I know very well, but im looking for someone that would specialize in gears specifically. I don't think anyone in town has done this mod, if so let me know where you went and why etc.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't of any "Performance Shops" that are gear experts.
I'm pretty sure TAPP would have no problems - as you probably know. You may be able to get a Honda dealership to do it, if you know of one that you trust that much.

If you know Tapp Auto I'd get him to install it. He was selling a set of the Richmond gears last year if you do a search. He would probably be somewhat experienced. Or if you have your prefered mechanic he could easily do it! Like Simon mentioned I don't think Ottawa has a gear only shop!

Speedstar is a long way to drive and let your car sit to get the gears installed! If it was me I'd find someone qualified to do it here! If you have the time all the power to you!

Dude, I thought when you bought this car you said you were going to do no mods?
Plus your not going to race it or anything.... what's the point ???
You better be coming to Solo II with those gears!

I stopped modding my teg and thought I was done, but having a car like the S is so hard not to do anything to it. I've looked at exhausts, header etc. but not impressed with what the S gets out of them other than weight savings, and 1-3hp. So far, from what I have read the gears are the best bang for the buck. I really don't plan to race it, it's more for my pleasure
