Smile Arrrgh, One Nut Short of a Full Suspension

So, I'm almost done installing my shiny new KW Variant 3 suspension, and the last nut of course won't go on the bottom shock mount bolt!!! After checking the other 3 supplied nuts, the last one has the wrong thread pitch. Ok no biggie, go to the Autoparts Store to get a nut ... They got M12 1.75, M12 1.50, BUT no M12 1.25 nuts. Neither did the local Canadian Tire (3 of them), Home Deopot, Sears, Princess Auto and a Home Hardware is closed.

God #$@!#$ there has to be nut to fit my bolt somewhere.

Gonna half to see if the Honda dealership have something like this, or Valley Hardware or a Home Hardware have this on Monday.

Thanks. Too bad they're not open Sunday. I'll swing by tomorrow morning on the way to work. If they don't have it, I don't think anyone will. Next thing you know I'll have to tap my own home made nuts.

It's dissapointing that after more or less a day of wrenching in 40+ humidex weather that I can't do a day of test driving today.

Yeah they should have it, or they can order if or possibly even make it??

I go there for my nut/bolt needs. Although they didn't have the fasteners for my OEM lip they had something that was pretty close.

Your crazy to install that stuff yesterday, it was retarded hot, I was passing out just putting together a patio table.

You do it when you have the time. I figured it was going to take a day to do and when else would there be time to drive on it? Next week is the last autocross, and I was thinking of getting in on some track time the week after. Need time to work in the springs, test out all that adjustability and get realigned.

The install was actually easier than expected. The DYI's are great to avoid stupid stuff. It really only took around 4 hours, taking my time. I did sweat out 2 bottles of water, but I'm used to that.

Ottawa Fastener Supply has a huge wall of nuts and bolts, HUGE. And they didn't have the nut I needed!

Went to Dow Honda to see if they had a equivalent sized nut, eventhough the actual shock nut is welded on the OEM shock flange. They had one, and the parts guy gave it to me for free!!!! Probably a whole $0.50, but free is free.

Going out for a spin now to see how everything drives.

First Impressions, it points to good

Preload of 70 mm front = 13 mm drop
Preload of 50 mm rear = 25 mm drop
I going to drop the front around 5 mm and raise the rear 5 mm.

The suspension is a little firmer, but not harsh. The small bumps are actually smoother. The big bumps feel like the rear is getting slapped after the initial bump, probably should dial softer rear rebound.

Transitions are faster, the car takes a set quicker too. Couldn't tell if it rolled less (but I don't really think so), since I didn't want to drive all out on the street. The car did feel more stable for high speed corners, even with mid-turn bumps. I'm guessing for the same comfort level, corners was around 10+ kph. Power oversteer seems more progressive. It might be in my head, but there is more grip to be tapped.
