NO, it's not red...spleen has a somewhat grey-pink hue to it. Have you ever gutted a large yellowfin tuna and pulled out its insides?

If you ever have a chance, try a fresh yellowfin tuna eye. It has a vaguely nutty taste to it...similar to almonds but lightly salted.
