Default newb question

i have a 00' ap1 with the plasic "window" i just wanted to know would it make sense to tint the back window being that it IS plastic and all? i plan on getting 5%

also anyone have their windshield tinted? if so how dark and how have the cops gave you any hastle for it?

also are their different types of tint? is one type of tint better than another?

TIA

the only way i have heard of people tinting the rear plastic window is with a static cling tint film. it not traditional tint but the static cling type.

regarding the windshield tint, of course it's illegal but most tint shops will do what you ask. also understand that the darker you tint the other windows the darker the front will appear.

so if you're going for 5% on the rear/sides that will impact how dark the front looks. if you get pulled over for anything and the cop decides to check your tint and finds anything on your front you're doomed. so if you go with 50% on the windshield tint which is very light, you're still going to get busted because it's tinted and looks darker than stock.

Llumar and Forumla 1, IMHO, are the best films on the market. Llumar makes a new film called Air Blue and it's 70 or 80% Film yet if blocks 40% of the heat. it's virtually clear but still has a slight tint (very slight).

good luck.

are you in Polk county? if so, i don't know any installers in that area. if you're in Orlando, i recommend Bob's Window tinting on 434 in Longwood.

check Llumar's website, maybe they have a drop down menu that shows local installers.
