Helmet Advice?

Helmet Advice?
My husband and I are relatively new to the S2000 (Feb) and even newer to autocrossing (June). We're hoping you folks can provide helmet advice. We want to go shopping for our next race, which is on the 26th.
Does anyone know where in central FL we can go to try on
Bell, Pyrotect, and Zamp helmets for sizing and fit?
Also, does anyone have any recommendations for a first helmet beyond SA2005? Thoughts on open vs. full face?
Thanks!

Any Motorcycle shop will have a great selection of helemets. Try many, many helmets on and buy the one that feels the best on your head. It should squeeze your cheeks slightly and not move around your head at all.
Make sure it is DOT and Snell approved. Almost all helmets you will find are DOT approved, but the Snell is the important one. You were right on getting Snell SA2005. The SA2010's will not come out till October. But you will be good for more than the life of the helmet with SA2005.
As far as open or closed. I prefer closed just because you will be racing with the top down and shit flies into the car. No a ton with autocross unless you spin but when you move to track day's a full face is nice to have. Check out the venting to make sure the helmet will breathe good. That is another factor in comfort. Again not so important in a 50 second autocross run but very important in a 30 min track day session.

Let me know if you're interested in mine. I didn't wear it much.
I could bring it to you if you'd like.

You might want to consider an open face if you still have airbags. I read somewhere it's a safer option. Also I like the open face because it's easier to have discussions with passengers or instructors while wearing it. Good luck.
