You don't have to pre-register for either day. It's $25 for SCCA members each day of racing, $40 covers a "weekend membership" + a day of racing for non-members, so I think that means if you wanted to run both days as a non-member it would be $40 for Saturday and $25 for Sunday and I think you can apply for an annual membership at the event and get a reduced rate or your 3rd day free or something.
It's 1 car at a time (sometimes 2 if they can be spaced far enough apart) on the course, timed with timing lights. Usually there are a lot fewer people there on Saturday so you get more runs, 8-10 vs. 4-5 for a Sunday trophy event day. Sundays you generally have more time to socialize though, if Saturday winds up being just two groups you'll either be driving or working the course.
It's a great group of people and loads of fun, there should be instructors there both days as well as 'Novice' walk throughs. and they have loaner helmets available, so it's alright if you don't have one.

Tina, come on out regardless, you won't be alone ... and don't worry, you won't look like a douchebag.. lol! Last week i spun out twice, and ran off course once... it was th3 suK! ... but still loads of fun!
And yea, you don't have to preregister, but even if you do via their site, it is free to do so... so you pay when you get there regardless...

Weeee! What a GREAT practice event!
Everyone did a lot of stellar driving! Jillian won Ladies BSP Richards times improved a TON! he's driving that little car niiice... By the way Richard, we forgot to trade cars for our last run today... lol! Jon with the Saturn wound up juuuuust out of first in his class, with a phantom cone that no one saw go down, other than the guy who called it in apparently... without that cone, he would have won his class for the day.
I wound up getting fastest time of day of the event overall with a 29.2... next fastest was a Lotus Elise with a 29.5 (i think) and then a TransAm or something with a 29.9... I spun out like 3 times during the day... lol! Well, i guess if you don't push it you'll never learn!
Driving over the skidpad is fuuuuun though... i had a couple of runs with some really nice drift maneuvers.. LoL!
Can't wait for tomorrows race! Its going to be GREAT!
