If you're referring to Battlestar , I don't believe it's on tonight. Tom usually tivos it and the tv doesn't show it as being on.
I just finished a couple of books by Joseph Campbell, Susan Armstrong and Sir James Fraiser dealing with myth, and it is remarkable how many mythic overtones are in Battlestar Galactica. I like the whole theme about the one true God, the 12 Cylons, and 12 human tribes. The line in last week's episode about how the Cylons realized that their lives would only have meaning if they were mortal is frankly transcendental. In a sense both the Cylons and the humans are on this mythic quest, just like in the Book of Exodus, trying to return to the promised land where the dualities between life and death, good and evil, and Cylon and human collapse. Even the sexual fertility cults and the role of Baltar as a fertility god remind one of the battle between the god of the Hebrews and the fertility gods of the Canaanites in the Pentetuch.

how did this thread start off about Josh trying to hook up and end up with Jay talking about the duality of fictional characters?
and in some Freudian way, i think Jay is saying Josh is a fertility god.
