Default Windshield Repair

I want to fix a rock chip (becoming a star!) in my windshield. It's right smack in the middle, not really even in my sight line. I think that injection process will suffice, but I've never used it before. Precision Auto Glass (on Foster Road) is close by, said they would fix it for $50.

Does anyone have a recommendation - places to go to, places NOT to go to?

What was your 1-to-10 level of satisfaction with the work that was done? (Will you always see a little blurry spot where the glass was repaired?)

What did you pay?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I've had two on the S so far. I contacted my insurance (SafeCo) which waived the deductible and gave me a list of places they work with, so I got it fixed for free. I was pretty happy with the place I chose (a local place that does mobile repair who we do printing for). If I were to complain about anything, it's that the surface of the resin has become rough so I can see the fills more than I could when they were first put in. But that's the way it goes, I guess.

Not bad for free.

I do about 2-3 chip repairs a day. I'm pretty good at it. Let me know I can try to sneak the stuff out of my work place and help ya out lol.

Thanks for the heads up, Aaron! I did change insurance carriers when I bought the S. I didn't used to have glass breakage coverage. Now I do! "We will repair, at no cost to you, simple glass breaks, chips, nicks, and cracks...." Great.

If you have pictures. I did five of them today. One was pretty big. I think if it's like within 1-2 inches close to the edge of the windshield there's a chance you can crack it if you try to repair it. There's a small small chance of cracking out a windshield during the repair process. I've seen two split out that my boss did out of like 500.
